In den frühen Morgenstunden des 22.11.22 begann eine gewaltvolle Polizeioperation in der
besetzten Nachbarschaft Prosfygika in Athen.

Die Bullen stürmten eine Wohnung und nahmen zwei Genoss*innen fest, eine dritte Person die im
gleichen Gebäude wohnt, wurde während der Verhaftung festgehalten. Zwei der Betroffenen
wurden mittlerweile entlassen.
- Inzwischen wissen wir, dass der dritten Person unter anderem "Mitglied einer kriminellen
Vereinigung" und Waffendelikte vorgeworfen werden. -
Die Community reagierte direkt mit verstärkten Sicherheitsmaßnahmen, dem Rufen von Slogans
und dem Zünden von Feuerwerk, um die Bullen nicht weiter in die Nachbarschaft vordringen zu
lassen.
Eine Solidaritätsdemo und ein öffentliches Notfallplenum folgten.
Ein Aufruf von Prosfygika lädt solidarische Menschen ein, zu jeder Tageszeit zu kommen, auch
nachts.

Im Laufe des Tages sind viele Menschen dem Solidaritätsaufruf gefolgt und in die Nachbarschaft
gekommen.
Am Nachmittag, gegen 16.30 hat die Polizei den 6. Block gestürmt und damit begonnen
Genoss*innen festzunehmen.
Mittlerweile wissen wir, dass 79 Menschen in der Polizeistation GADA festgehalten werden. Die
Bullen sind gewalttätig vorgegangen. Mindestens 3 Menschen wurden brutal
zusammengeschlagen. Gegen 18.00 Uhr haben die Cops den 6. Block und die Nachbarschaft
verlassen.

Bis in den späten Abend hinein versammelten sich Unterstützer*innen in Solidarität mit den
gefangen Genommenen vor GADA. Bis die Bullen die Identität von allen Festgenommenen
festgestellt haben, gibt es noch keine Infos über Anschuldigungen.
Morgen, am 23.11.um 8.30 endet eine Kundgebung vor dem Gericht Evelpidon statt. Um 9 Uhr
soll der Gerichtstermin des Genossen stattfinden, der morgens festgenommen wurde, um 10.30
die 79 anderen Personen. Letztere stehen aufgrund folgender Vorwürfe vor Gericht: versuchte,
schwere Körperverletzung, Widerstand gegen Beamte, ordnungswidriges Verhalten, Waffenbesitz
u.a. Eine Schwangere Frau, die gefangen genommen wurde ist auf haftrichterliche Anordnung
freigekommen.

Was heute passiert ist war ein brutaler Angriff auf die gesamte Community. Das Areal der
Nachbarschaft ist seit Jahrzehnten ein Spekulationsobjekt und Spielball der Gentrifizierungspläne
der (Stadt-)regierung und die selbstorganisierte Community ein ideologischer Dorn im Auge der
Autoritäten. Die Angriffe des Staates gegen die Community geschehen im Zuge einer
zunehmenden Repression gegen alle emanzipatorischen Ideen und Orte des Widerstands.
Wir stehen in Solidarität mit all diesen Orten und heute besonders mit der besetzten Community
Prosfygika und unseren gefangen genommenen Genoss*innen.

Jeder Angriff gegen selbstorganisierte Strukturen ist ein Angriff gegen uns alle.
Von Rojava bis nach Athen, SOLIDARITY WILL WIN.

Zeigt Solidarität mit unseren Genoss*innen und der Community of Prosfygika in Athen, zeigt, dass
wir diesen Angriff nicht widerstandslos hinnehmen werden.

In the early hours today (22.11.22) started a violent police operation in the squatted
neighborhood of Prosfygika.
The cops entered an apartment and arrested two comrades, while they kept a third person who lives in the same building. Two of them are released by now.
The community reacted directly with increased security measures, shouting of slogans and fireworks
to not let the cops go forward into the neighborhood (https://twitter.com/Prosfygika/status/1594982643350835201).
- Meanwhile, we know that the third person is accused of, among other things, "member of a
criminal organization" and weapons offenses. 

This was followed by a solidarity demonstration and a public emergency assembly.
"We will not give up a project of social self-organization and resistance without a fight."
Throughout the day many people followed the solidarity call and came to the neighborhood. In
the afternoon, at around 16.30 the cops invaded the 6th block and started arresting comrades.
Until now we know of 79 comrades that are kept in GADA (Central Police Station Athens). The cops acted violently, at least 3
people were beaten violently. The cops left the neighborhood around 18.00.
Until the late evening supporters are gathering in solidarity with the detained comrades in front of GADA.
Until the cops have checked the identities of all the detained comrades, there are no information about their accusations.

Today 23.11.at 8.30 there will be a gathering in front of the court Evelpidon. At 9 am there will
be the court hearing of the comrade who was arrested in the morning, at 10.30 the 79 other
people. The latter are on trial on the following charges: attempted grievous bodily harm, resisting
officers, disorderly conduct, possession of weapons, among others.
A pregnant woman who was taken into custody has been released by order of the prison judge.

The events today were a brutal attack to the whole community. The area of the neighborhood is
since decades an object of real estate speculation and a toy of the gentrification plans of the
municipality and the self-organized community a thorn in the eyes of the authorities. The attacks
by the state are happening in the course of increased repression against all emancipatory ideas
and spaces of resistance.
We stand in solidarity with all this places and today especially with the
squatted community of Prosfygika and our arrested comrades.

Every attack against self-organized structures is an attack against all of us.
From Rojava to Athens, SOLIDARITY WILL WIN.
